From Highway 17/75 at Unicoi Gap, take FS 44 for a little more than 3.2 miles. Park on the right hand side of the road beside a feeder stream and in front of some vehicle blocking mounds of dirt. You can see both falls from FS 44 by walking down the road a hundred fifty yards. BUT, if you want to see them up close and take photos, here is the easiest way to do that. From where you parked, walk across the road and follow the feeder stream to it's confluence with Wilks Creek. Rock hop across Wilks and turn right on a very old logging road (there is a newer old road higher up the mountainside). After a hundred yards + or -, leave the logging road and pick your way down to the BOTTOM of the upper falls. Open woods and not very steep.
