• Sellers Falls and Sandy Bottom Falls: Two more waterfalls in the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area (LRWMA).
• Although "Sandy Bottom Falls" and Sellers Falls are "known" to a lot of local hunters, fishermen and hikers; it was Greg Ford's explorations that brought them to the attention of the "Waterfaller Community".
• Park at the Forest Service gate on Sellers Road (FR 89A).
• This is the same place you park if going to Tabor, Tranquility, or Peaceful Falls https://mtnimages.smugmug.com/Hiking-With-Mtnimages/Lake-Russell-Wildlife-Manage-Area-Again/
• After 15 or 20 minutes, FR 89A dead ends into FR 89.
• Turn left and continue down FR 89.
• FR 89 is a seasonally open, drivable road.
• On my hike to Sandy Bottom, I stayed on the FR 89 all the way to where it fords an unnamed creek.
• Just before reaching the ford, turn right and pick up an old logging road heading uphill. You can either follow the logging road uphill a little way before dropping down to the waterfall or, you can follow the creek downstream to where it joins the Middle Fork, cross and follow Middle Fork river left down to Sandy Bottom Falls.
• Sandy Bottom Falls. On the Middle Fork Broad River; LRWMA.
• Greg Ford named it for the large, sandy pool at the bottom.
• On my hike to Sellers Falls, I left FR 89 where the road makes a sharp left turn. See GPS track at end of this posting (Way point "WoodsRight").
• It is open woods and not steep.
• Actually, the place that I left FR 89 is close to the old road up on the ridge line as shown on old topo maps.
• I wanted to follow a draw/drainage leading from this old road down to Middle Fork just above Sellers Falls.
• Because of down-falls and steep terrain, I ended up in a secondary draw a little farther north before reaching the Middle Fork (See GPS Track). I crossed here .
• I re-crossed at the top of Sellers Falls.
• There is an easily followed path down the river right side of the waterfall.
• Sellers Falls. On the Middle Fork Broad River; LRWMA.
• It is hard to judge the total height; 35-40 feet?
